Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. After breakfast, begin your climb from Umbwe Gate, following a steep and narrow forest trail through lush rainforest. The path is challenging, with some sections requiring a bit of scrambling as you gain elevation. Enjoy the vibrant greenery and unique flora as you make your way up to Umbwe Cave Camp, where you’ll settle in for the night amidst the scenic mountain landscape. On Day 3, you’ll continue your ascent from Umbwe Cave Camp towards Barranco Camp. The trail becomes steeper, winding through dense forests and giving way to the moorland zone. After breakfast, set out from Karanga Camp and make your way toward Barafu Camp, the final base camp before your summit attempt. This portion of the trek takes you through a rocky and arid landscape as you ascend to higher elevations. Upon arrival at Barafu Camp, settle in, enjoy an early dinner, and prepare for the challenging summit push ahead. Rest is crucial, as you’ll begin your ascent to the summit around midnight.
On Day 7, after a final breakfast at Mweka Camp, you’ll begin your descent toward Mweka Gate.
