Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA)

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Settle in, enjoy a welcome dinner, and attend a briefing to prepare for your upcoming climb.

Day 2: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

After breakfast, you will drive to the Rongai Gate for registration. From there, your trek begins through the lush rainforest, where you’ll navigate farmland and pine forests on your way to Simba Camp. The trail offers a gentle incline, serving as a scenic introduction to your climbing adventure.

Day 3: Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp

As you continue your ascent through the moorland zone, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of the Kenyan plains. The trail gradually steepens as you make your way to Kikelewa Camp, nestled in a protected valley, providing a serene spot to rest and take in the surrounding beauty.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

Ascend gradually through the grassy slopes and challenging terrain toward Mawenzi Tarn Camp, located at the base of the striking Mawenzi Peak. This campsite provides stunning views and an excellent opportunity for acclimatization.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut

Cross the otherworldly expanse of the “Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks until you reach Kibo Hut, the base camp for your summit attempt. Here, you’ll prepare for the final ascent with an early dinner and get some rest before the climb.

Day 6: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Start your summit attempt around midnight, navigating through the night to arrive at Gilman’s Point as the sun rises. From there, proceed to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, where you can celebrate your remarkable achievement. Afterward, descend to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Conclude your descent at Marangu Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. Afterward, you’ll be transferred back to Arusha for a night of relaxation and celebration of your remarkable achievement.
