Arusha National Park
Covering an area of 137 Square km, Arusha National Park is a pearl of diverse ecosystems and stunning views of Mt. Meru, the crater that gives the region its name.
Walking safaris are permitted here due to the low number of predators in the park. This is a must visiting destination for anyone who wants a closer look at the moss-covered trees as well as for those wanting to get up close to wildlife. Most common wildlife sightings whilst on a walking safari include African elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, and a variety of birds such as the silvery cheeked hornbill, little bee-eater, and the occasional long crested-eagle. The walk takes the visitors to the refreshing beautiful Tululusia waterfalls and back to the Momella gate. On the way towards the Momella Lakes, visitors can see waterbucks and reedbucks love to hang around the lake shore.
A wide array of water birds like cormorants, kingfishers, and beautiful flamingos are also often spotted. It is a well-liked destination for day-trippers as it offers spectacular views of nature which includes the slopes, ash cones of Mt. Meru, , the Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella Lakes, and the lush highland forests.
How To Go There
It’s an easily accessible national park by both Roadways and Airstrips.
As we will start our trip from Mwanza, Mwanza city is accessible by air using Mwanza Airport, which is 10km away from the city center. Train, buses (dala dalas), motorcycles (boda bodas), and ferries can be used available to get around the city.

What Animal Will You See?
This beautiful national park is home to the biggest giraffe population in Tanzania. Other than this giraffes, lions, elephants, wild oxen, hippos and waterbucks can be effectively seen in this park. Leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and wild canines can likewise be seen at times. In addition to this 400 bird species are also found here.
